No evento “O futuro da regulamentação dos criptoativos no Brasil”, realizado em Brasília, o presidente do Banco Central do Brasil, Roberto Campos Neto, anunciou que o órgão lançará CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) até 2023.

O início de testes previstos para início ainda neste mês de setembro, como uma alternativa digital ao dinheiro fiduciário tradicional para transações. 

A proposta do BC é que as criptomoedas atreladas à stablecoin brasileira tornem o ecossistema nacional mais tokenizado, com aplicação de tecnologias e inserção em novos mercados virtuais, como o metaverso. A regulamentação também é prevista pelo órgão, para prevenção de crimes de lavagem de dinheiro e transparência maior das operações realizadas.

At the event “The future of cryptocurrency regulation in Brazil”, held in Brasília, the president of the Central Bank of Brazil, Roberto Campos Neto, announced that the body will launch CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) by 2023.

The tests are expected to start later this September, as a digital alternative to traditional money for transactions.

The BC proposal is that cryptocurrencies linked to the Brazilian stablecoin make the national ecosystem more tokenized, with the application of technologies and insertion in new virtual markets, such as the metaverse. The regulation will also be foreseen by the body, for the prevention of money laundering crimes and greater transparency of the operations carried out.
